HyDEPP-SATREPS Philippine side holds General Assembly

The overall management team of HyDEPP SATREPS Philippine side initiated a General Assembly in order to consolidate all updates and accomplishments for the past 2 years. The objectives were also reviewed in order to set the direction for the remaining years of the project.

The meeting was generally facilitated by Dr. Patricia Sanchez (Project Manager) and Dr. Fernando Sanchez, Jr. (Project Director). Dr. Aurelio A.. Delos Reyes, Jr. (Group 2 Leader) was also present and discussed the updates on his group's behalf. Attendees among the members were Mr. Francis Faderogao (Group 1), Dr. Rubenito Lampayan and Dr. Eduardo Calzeta (Group 2), Dr. Mona Liza Delos Reyes and Dr. Jessica Villanueva-Peyraube (Group 2 and 3) and Ms. Catherine B. Gigantone and Dr. Alma Lorelei Abejero (Group 3). Mr. Julius Galang (JICA Project Assistant) was also present at the meeting.

Members from each group added more details as Dr. Patricia Sanchez managed the flow of discussions of updates followed by ongoing related projects then by future directions for the coming year. They also discussed how each groups can better communicate their needs to the other. Another highlight was the appointment of Dr. Lampayan as co-leader of Group 2 for the transition from Dr. Delos Reyes, Jr. upon his retirement.

Since the allotted time was not enough,  a meeting-workshop on March 4 was set to complete the unfilled items with regards to related projects and future directions. The file was also shared amongst the Philippine members especially for those who were not able to attend to also provide inputs. The management team in the Philippines side hopes to set a clearer direction for its members with regards to the goals of the project.
